Dark Realm Command, also known as DARKCOM, was an anti-demon organization operating on behalf of the U.S. government led by Vice President William Baines and founded by Arius Von Enhrenberg. Initially, DARKCOM presented itself as a supportive organization for fellow demon hunters.

However, it was eventually revealed to be an antagonistic force, as the organization was directly responsible for causing the White Rabbit’s descent into villainy. But after Vergil exposed DARKCOM’s true nature to the public and Baines's death, the organization was officially disbanded.

Their basis are spread in many places in the United States of America and also the main base.

Overview

Dark Realm Command views itself as humanity's sole and ultimate defense against the demonic threat. This arrogant conviction makes them highly aggressive toward other organizations and any humans who dare to negotiate with demons.

Founded and primarily funded by the U.S. government and private investors, the DRC also harbors deep suspicion and disdain for independent organizations and unaligned demon hunters operating outside their command structure.

Technology

Leveraging their substantial funding, this organization possesses supremely advanced technology that far surpasses even the American military. This arsenal includes the DARKCOM combat suits, handcuffs, and anti-demon bullets. However, the anti-demon bullets are notably less effective against hybrid entities such as Dante.

Weapons

Besides their advanced technological weapons, they also use normal handguns and hand grenade.

Level System

Dark Realm Command as its own ranking system for demons, what they call levels. The higher the level, the stronger the demon, the levels are 1 to 6.

History

The Dark Realm Command was founded by Arius von Erenburg as a subsidiary of Uroboros and eventually started working with the US government as a private contractor. The organization has had many encounters with demons. In one count that they met the rabbit who was a human who wanted to help weak demons to cross over to the human world to find a safe place for them to live, but their assault left the man physically and mentally scarred.

Devil May Cry (Netflix)

Following the White Rabbit's attack on the Vatican, Darkcom was employed by the US government to take him down. When the Rabbit gave the clue to "find the hunter," they knew it meant a demon hunter, but instead of asking the demon hunters for help, they decided to capture them all and interrogate them. The reason the demon hunters lost to the troops was simple: there were too many of them, and demon hunters usually worked alone. Discovering that the Rabbit was after Dante's amulet, they tracked him down and managed to secure both Dante and the amulet. However, their transport was attack by the Rabbit, resulting in the Amulet being taken and Dante escaping. They quickly managed to track White Rabbit down to an apartment building full of demons, but the Advanced team, sans Lady are killed. When the building is secure, Darkcom begins slaughtering all the demons inside, resulting in Plasma detonating the entire building as a final gambit.

During the final confrontation with the White Rabbit, Anders is revealed as a traitor, leading Baines to kill him and secure White Rabbit's portal device. Lady also captures Dante and DARKCOM has him cryogenically frozen while they run experiment on his DNA, resulting in the Super Demon Killer bullets.

Using White Rabbit's actions as justification while hiding his true identity as a human, DARKCOM and the U.S. government begin war with Makai. DARKCOM uses the opportunity to begin secretly capturing, torturing and experimenting on demons. It is at this point that Arius begins taking a more hands-on leadership role, sacrificing military soldiers in order to secure the Arcana.

When Vergil first enters the Human World, he is quickly met by DARKCOM solider, who are quickly dispatched of. This leads the organization to release Dante, who agrees join them in order to capture his brother. Shortly after this, Vergil publicly exposes Darkcom's action towards demons before meeting and clashing with Dante, destroying most of DARKCOM's base. Later on, Arius's secretary would use Darkcom's soldiers to stall Later while she attemptedto escape with Sparda's sword.

After Vergil exposed DARKCOM’s true nature to the public and Baines was betrayed and killed by Arius, the organization was officially disbanded and the White Rabbit's posthumous revenge was finally complete.
