- Loki's evade is Vergil's Trick evade. Loki's evade uses a similar blue trail effect and provides Loki with an invincible, long range evasive manuever.
- Loki's Air Slam is Vergil's Stomp. Loki descends downwards, stabbing the ground with his scepter in his right hand, creating a shockwave that blasts back enemies and creates a rupture in the ground.

Ninja Theory is credited with having created the combat for the new Star Wars characters added to the game, as well as overhauling the existing combat system carried over from the previous game.[6]
- The pause combo system NT developed for DmC: Devil May Cry returns in Disney Infinity 3.0. After performing a few attacks in an attack string, a character's weapon will flash white, indicating an opportunity to execute a pause combo, where the player now has access to a different combo tree of moves.

- El Bastardo's Leap of Faith attack is a homing version of Dante's Eryx Stomp. For Leap of Faith, El Bastardo jumps into the air towards an opponent, slaming his fist into the ground near them causing a damaging shockwave, with cracks appearing around the point of impact.

Trivia
- The control scheme used for the Angel & Demon mode-switching in DmC: Devil May Cry was partly inspired by the control scheme used in Ninja Theory's previous work, Heavenly Sword. In Heavenly Sword, the main character Nariko has a similar mechanic called stance-switching which gives the player access to different movesets depending on which shoulder button they hold down.
