devilmaycry

Arbiter is Dante's first demonic weapon in DmC: Devil May Cry. A weapon of great heft, it crushes almost anything with its thunderous strikes.

Description

Arbiter is an oversized battleaxe with a red-and-black color scheme. The red blade is large and curves over some of the shaft as many bearded axes do. The grip is the same as his Rebellion, owing to the weapon's shape-shifting quality. When it is used to attack, it leaves behind a dark red streak in its wake, and an eruption of red and orange sparks as it hits the ground.

Arbiter also has Golden, Bone, and Samurai skins available through DLC that change its appearance, and can be acquired either by pre-ordering the game or by purchasing them seperately.[1]

Arbiter
A heavy, magical axe that can destroy walls and shields that normal attacks cannot!

Arbiter
A gigantic battle axe capable of defeating the most resistant enemies. Its name is rather ironic because it tends to "arbitrate" in a less than subtle manner.

Story

While exploring the ruins of his childhood home, Dante comes across an old portrait of his father, Sparda. While observing the portrait, Dante is ambushed by a pack of demons. After defeating them, the winged carving at the base of the portrait begins to glow red and seems to silently call to Dante. Dante moves closer and reaches into the round carving, but his hand is quickly magnetized to the metal. Dark red, demonic power begins flowing from the carving, through Dante's arm and into Rebellion, which transforms into Arbiter. DmC: Devil May Cry

Gameplay

The Arbiter focuses on single, powerful strikes that can generate shockwaves to inflict added damage to surrounding enemies.

Arbiter is a powerful weapon. It is far slower than the Rebellion, but packs enough punch to crack enemies' shields. It doesn't have nearly as many attack options, and is well-suited for combat on the ground. What attacks it does have are usually enough to keep enemies at bay with the shockwaves it can produce. Trinity Smash is the main attack you're going to want to use, as it is the strongest attack of all weapons in the game, next to a fully charged 3rd hit of Eryx. Arbiter should not be used against fast opponents unless they are stunned, and is risky to use when surrounded, as its attacks leave Dante wide-open for extended periods.

With Arbiter's heavy strikes, the weapon can also be used to break open brittle walls and other objects.
